About

Safe screen time, without the guesswork

Sprout & Screen helps parents of 2–5-year-olds decide whether an app is worth handing over — safety first, but fair.

Choosing a kids' app shouldn't mean cross-reading a privacy policy, a data-safety label, and an age rating across two different app stores. We do that part for you: we pull what the App Store and Google Play actually publish about an app, turn it into one clear verdict, and flag the things a parent would want to know — ads, in-app purchases, what data it collects, and whether anyone can contact your child.

Safety-first, not fear-first

Safety is the lens we lead with, but we're not here to scare anyone. Plenty of apps earn a warm "hand it over." When something's genuinely worth a second look, we say so plainly and show you why — no alarmism, no hype.

Data-driven, human-verified

Every review starts from real store data and is scored on the same rubric, so the numbers mean the same thing from one app to the next. Drafts are AI-assisted, then read and verified by a real parent before anything publishes. You can see exactly how it works on How we review.

How we're funded

Sprout & Screen is supported by advertising, and may use affiliate links (always disclosed). Ads and affiliate relationships never influence a verdict — scoring is data-driven and our editorial calls are independent. More in our advertising & affiliate disclosure.
